Big & Rich are a country music duo that was formed in 1998 in Nashville, Tennessee. The duo consists of Big Kenny and John Rich. After their previous projects failed, Big & Rich started collaborating together after meeting in a nightclub. After successfully writing several hit songs together for other artists, Big & Rich released their first album, "Horse of a Different Color", in May of 2004. The album immediately became a best selling country album, and it was also the sixth best selling album of any genre during its peak in the United States. The success of the album can be attributed to four top 20 singles, which helped it sell more than 3 million copies. Big & Rich would followup their successful debut album with "Comin' to Your City" in November 2005. While the album would perform well, it would never be able to match the great sales of their debut. "Comin' to Your City" would peak at number three on the US country charts, and it would sell more than 1 million copies. Big & Rich would return back on top of the country album charts when they released "Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace" in June 2007. The sales of the album were helped because of the song "Lost in This Moment", which became Big & Rich's first number one hit single. After going on a four-year hiatus, Big & Rich would come back with "Hillbilly Jedi". The long delay would hurt sales of the duo's fourth album. "Hillbilly Jedi" would only peak at number four on the US country charts. The duo's fifth album, "Gravity", would hit stores in September 2014. Big & Rich were nominated for being one of the best country music duos at the 2012 CMA Awards and 2013 ACM Awards, but they would fail to win either award. They continue to be sought after headliners across the United States.
