The appropriately named Ciara Princess Harris is a multi-talented African American singer/songwriter/actress/dancer who comes from the city of Austin, Texas where the artist was born on October 25, 1985. As an Army brat, Ciara would use the trials and tribulations of moving from one school to another as motivation to succeed in life.
Early in her career that started in 2002, she joined an all-girl group named Hearsay. The experience was not a happy one and the band dissolved after only one year. When Ciara took stock of what she really wanted, she knew it was time to pursue a solo career. In 2004, she signed with La Face Records after Exec L.A. Reid noticed her immense potential.
After spending several months working on her debut album, Ciara release Goodies in September of 2004. The album was a smash success and reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 200 Albums Chart and No. 1 on the US R&B Chart. The title track would also share in the success reaching No. 1 on the Hot 100, R&B and UK Singles Charts at the same time. To date, it still ranks as her most popular single.
Her next two albums, Ciara: The Evolution (2006) and Fantasy Ride (2009), would also make a great impressions reaching No. 1 and No. 3, respectively, on the Hot 200 Albums Chart. Her music also took her to several awards shows where she managed to reel in a Grammy for Best Short-Form Music Video in 2006 for the song "Lose Control". Ciara went on to release Basic Instinct (2010), Ciara (2013) and finally Jackie (2015). There's little sign of slowing for this in demand diva.
In between recording and her concert events, Ciara was found to be very much in demand as a fashion model, actress, and found herself working with other musicians in the capacity of music and video producer.
