Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu is a rapper that was born in London, England, on November 7, 1988. Okogwu has been performing under the stage name Tinie Tempah since 2005. Tinie Tempah would conceive of his stage name when he was 12, but he would not begin his music career for another five years. After releasing several mixtapes online, Tinie Tempah would finally release his first studio album, "Disc-Overy" in October of 2010. The album would receive mostly positive reviews from the music critics, and it would become an instant hit with fans. "Disc-Overy" was able to hit the music charts in 10 different countries. The album would have the most success in Tempah's home country when it peaked at number one in the UK. The success of "Disc-Overy" was aided by the four hit singles that were released from the album. The album has currently sold just over 1 million copies worldwide. Tinie Tempah would release his second album, "Demonstration", in October of 2013. The album was originally supposed to be released in 2011, but it was delayed nearly two years. "Demonstration" would receive better reviews than the debut album, but the long delay ultimately hurt sales. "Demonstration" was only able to peak at number three on the UK music charts. The album would also sell nearly 600,000 copies more than "Disc-Overy" in the United Kingdom. The success of Tinie Tempah's debut album would earn him four nominations at the 2011 Brit Awards. "Disc-Overy" would earn a nomination for Album of the Year, as well. Tinie Tempah would also earn a nomination for Best British Male. While he would ultimately lose these two awards, he would still manage to win two Brit Awards. Tinie Tempah won for Best Breakthrough Act, and his song "Pass Out" also won for Best Single.
