Twista is the stage name for Carl Terrell Mitchell, an American hip hop artist. He went into the Guinness World Records in 1992 for being the fastest rapper in the world. His first album release was under the name Tung Twista. He later changed his name, and he recorded an album titled Resurrection under this new moniker. The album was only released in Chicago, initially. He worked with The Legendary Traxter and Do or Die for the song “Po Pimp” in 1996. He worked with Legendary Traxter again in 1997 as Traxter produced a song on Twista’s first album to end up on the Billboard Hot 200, Adrenaline Rush. The song, "Get It Wet", ended up on the Billboard Hot 100. The Legendary Traxter became Twista’s go-to producer. Twista worked with Speedknot Mobstaz in 1998 to create the album Mobstability, an album produced completely by The Legendary Traxter. He created his own label after that. The Legit Ballin’ label released a self titled album in 1999 and follow-ups starting in 2001 and ending in 2006. He performed on a Ruff Ryder’s track in 2000, worked with Kanye West and Ludacris in 2002, and worked with Trey Songz and Pitbull in 2005. His collaboration with Kanye, “Slow Jamz”, hit number one in the US. The Kamikaze album, released in 2004, was number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Adrenaline Rush 2007 was the follow up to the original platinum-selling Adrenaline album. His eighth album release, The Perfect Storm, featured Chris Brown, Waka Flocka Flame, Diddy and Ray J. Twista released his first single for his next album, The Dark Horse, in May of 2014.
