Oh Land

Electro-pop artist Oh Land (born Nanna Øland Fabricius) first trained as a ballerina, but turned to music after an injury ended her dance aspirations when she was 18. But she had plenty of inspiration to draw on: her father is an organist and her mother was an opera singer. Oh Land developed a theatrical approach to performance, using drum pads and visuals projected on balloons. Her debut album, ‘Fauna,’ was released in her home country of Denmark in 2008; her second album arrived in 2011. The video for the propulsive “Sun of a Gun,” has been viewed more than 18 million times. Oh Land got further exposure on the road as an opening act for Sia and Katy Perry. She’s said she strives to “write songs I couldn’t live without.” Fans around the world are glad those songs are a part of their lives.
