Halsey’s Twitter page says that she’s “running out of short sentences to summarize my existence.” That’s actually a blessing because her music is all about capturing moments from her life, and its eloquence is a gift that her fans do not take lightly. She’s expert at setting a mood. From “Hurricane” to “Ghost” to “New Americana,” Halsey makes tracks that instantly conjure images in your head – call her a new breed of storyteller. “I write songs about sex and being sad,” she recently posted on Facebook, but her music is broader than that. What drove fans nuts at this year’s SXSW is the same thing that prompts critics to sing her praises; she may be a newcomer, but she’s got the skills of a vet. You’ll find that out for sure when her ‘Badlands’ debut arrives at the end of August. Until then, let us introduce to one of our faves through a full month’s-worth of exclusive interviews and performances.

Vevo’s LIFT program began in January of 2011 as a way of celebrating new talent. We pride ourselves on introducing emerging artists to a broader audience, and each LIFT cycle paints a detailed portrait so viewers get a grip on the artist’s creativity. Through exclusive interviews, behind-the scenes footage, video premieres, and great performances - all exclusive to the Vevo platform – we unite the artist and the audience.
