With lots of eyes on the competition, VEVO has been presenting episodes of the KIDZ Star USA Talent Search ,and several skilled young singers have emerged. But it's Dallas Wayde who has pulled away as the winner, and congrats go out to the 15-year-old from Texas. The final contest came down to three impressive 'tweens. Jayna Brown sang Katy Perry's "Firework," Rylie Brown sang Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger," and Wayde sang an original entitled "U Mad, 'Bro?" Guess writing your own song helps a bit - the charismatic blonde took the top prize after giving a wildly enthusiastic performance.
The contestants had to do a bit of dancing during the final episode as well. A choreographer helped them up their game, and dancers accompanied each of the deciding performances. Here's where Wayde made his move, closing his act by jumping from the stage to try to grab the hat from star judge Gavin DeGraw. A blend of swag and audacity, it was the performance move that cinched the deal. A recording contract with RCA records is now his.
Wayde is "an extremely talented young artist," says Tom Corson, President and Chief Operating Officer at RCA. "Working with the KIDZ BOP/KIDZ Star USA team continues to be an incredible experience, and we are truly excited to begin working with Dallas."
Cliff Chenfeld, Co-Founder of KIDZ BOP adds that "Dallas has a unique sound and an incredible stage presence that not only caught the attention of RCA, but captivated hundreds of thousands of VEVO fans."
