A few rides through Soundgarden's "Been Away Too Long," and it's obvious: the Seattle rockers have lost none of their signature mania. The new track comes from the foursome's first album in over 15 years, King Animal. To celebrate its arrival, the band takes the Live On Letterman stage next Monday, November 12. VEVO will Webcast the show on VEVO.com as well as its free mobile apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android. The action starts at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT.King Animal will be released on Tuesday, November 13.

"I don't really know how to describe it musically," vocalist Chris Cornell recently told Billboard about the new album, "because typically with Soundgarden... every time we write a song we always take it for what it is and try to make it the most it can be. It's very diverse, I can tell you that."

Soundgarden, featuring Cornell, guitarist Kim Thayil, drummer Matt Cameron, and bassist Ben Shepherd are revered for their help in architecting the grunge sound that dominated American rock in the late '80s and early '90s. Their last studio album was 1996's Down On The Upside. Fans were thrilled when Soundgarden reunited for performances and tours in 2010. The arrival of King Animal is being equally celebrated.

A preview of King Animal is being offered at iTunes.
