You're heading to SXSW this year? We're there, too, and our 2013 lineup of live performances and special events at the custom HGTV-designed VEVO TV Control Room in downtown Austin definitely needs to be checked out. The space will function as a music venue, an exclusive after-hours VIP lounge, a beer garden and a great hang-out spot with picnic tables, ping-pong, food and beverages.
American contemporary artist Shepard Fairey (he of the famed 2008 Barack Obama "Hope" poster) will be doing a mural installation on the west wall of the VEVO TV Control Room this week. The mural will be unveiled March 13. Additionally, the VEVO TV Control Room will showcase an art exhibition curated by New York-based startup Indiewalls featuring music-inspired pieces by AVone, who will also paint live throughout the week. Here's a preview of the exhibit.
Throughout the week, VEVO will open the venue to additional partners, events and showcases as well as SXSW badge holders and wristbands.
Fans at SXSW, and those who cannot make it to Austin, can stay connected with VEVO during the Festival on Twitter (#VEVOSXSW) and through frequent updates across VEVO's presence on Facebook. Fans checking into the VEVO TV Control Room in Austin on FourSquare will be entered to win a VEVO SWAG Bag.
