Florida Georgia Line
“Turn your party lights ownnnn,” sings Florida Georgia Line in “Get Your Shine On,” and the lyric is at the heart of the music this terrific country act has been making for the past few years. Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard are small town southern boys, and the songs on their first full album ‘Here’s To The Good Times,’ arrive with a message: let’s have fun. When the guys connected at Nashville’s Belmont University, they knew they had an instant chemistry. From writing to singing, they worked on their partnership, playing all sorts of gigs together. A lot of the creative action took place on the tailgate of Tyler’s truck, where they crafted songs and honed harmonies. A buzz about their skills began pretty quickly. When Jason Aldean cut their “Black Tears,” they knew they were on the right path. Last summer they signed with Republic Nashville and everything solidified. ‘Here’s To The Good Times’ has given us “Get Your Shine On” and “Cruise,” two impressive hits. The second song just got a remix featuring “Country Grammar” MC Nelly – no, Florida Georgia Line isn’t your typical country act. They’re headed in lots of different directions.
