Adel Tawil rose to fame in the '90s in the boy band the Boyz. In 1998, their single "One Minute" went Top Ten in Germany and Austria, but the group split at the end of 1999. In 2002, Tawil's career took a turn for the better when he met former Ideal and Humpe & Humpe vocalist Annette Humpe. They formed the duo Ich + Ich and released their first single, "Geht's Dir Schon Besser?," in 2004. Their real breakthrough came with 2007's Vom Selben Stern, which went all the way to number one in Germany, Top Five in Austria and Switzerland, and sold six-times platinum in their homeland. In 2009, Ich + Ich went on hiatus. In 2013, Tawil made his solo debut with the album Lieder.
