While living as a student in Philadelphia in 2010, Utrecht, Holland native Annelotte de Graaf began writing music, then once back home released Benjamin, an EP of folky songs. Over the next few years she continued recording while working as a legal aid on UN war crime tribunals and as an assistant in Holland's immigration center. She pooled her money and flew to New York to work with producer Ben Greenberg (the Men). Laying down the songs she wrote at home with a band including members of Quilt and Real Estate, de Graaf's sound was very much Stereolab and Broadcast-influenced. Heavenly Records liked what they heard and released the Patiently EP (2015) and the full-length Fading Lines (2016). ~ Tim Sendra
