Ane Brun, born Ane Brunvall, is a Norwegian singer/songwriter who made her home in Sweden. Her music is based on delicate acoustic folk, but integrates subtle electronics, semi-classical string arrangements, and other unexpected touches. She debuted with 2003's Spending Time with Morgan (her affectionate nickname for her first guitar), followed by 2005's A Temporary Dive and Duets, featuring Brun singing 10 duets, mostly with other Scandinavian indie artists. The 2008 release Changing of the Seaons raised her international profile considerably, due in part to the string arrangements by rising modern classical star Nico Muhly (Antony & the Johnsons). She appeared on Peter Gabriel's 2011 album New Blood, and later that year released her sixth album It All Starts with One, produced by Tobias Fröberg.
