At the Gates
Forging a sound that blended neo-classical structures with technical metal aggression, Sweden’s At The Gates established a style that came to be known as "The Gothenburg Sound." In a relatively short span of time, the band influenced both the metalcore and death metal scenes. Their 1995 release, SLAUGHTER OF THE SOUL, was also nominated for a Swedish Grammy. At The Gates broke up in 1996, and three of its members went on to form The Haunted. But the original members reunited in 2007 for a worldwide tour and gave a new generation of fans a taste of its inimitable style.
