Best known for his role as manager of world-beating electronica superstars Daft Punk, Busy P (born Pedro Winter) began his career as a key player in the nascent early-‘90s Parisian dance music underground. From connections made through DJing, Winter eventually hooked up with the rising Daft Duo, who asked him to be their manager. With momentum from Daft Punk’s global success, Winter founded the management company Headbangers Entertainment, handling future stars of French-touch house while continuing his DJ, production, and remix activities. In 2003, he started Ed Banger Records, whose distortion-driven style--typified by artists like Justice, Uffie, and Sebastian--became synonymous with the new punk-edged sound of electro-house.
