Hailing from North Carolina, neo-soul singer and songwriter Calvin Richardson got his start in a group called Undacova. When Richardson decided to go solo he landed a deal with Universal Records, which lead to the release of his debut, COUNTRY BOY, in 1999. Richardson’s music draws on vintage soul from the ‘60s and ‘70s, as well as on hip-hop-inflected urban contemporary, drawing on the best of both worlds. These tendencies were refined on his sophomore release, 2:35 PM, which contained the Grammy-nominated hit “More Than a Woman” with Angie Stone. WHEN LOVE COMES was released in 2008.
