Active from 1999 till 2006 in the CCM duo Watermark which she formed with her husband Nathan, the Christian solo artist Christy Nockels has been involved in Christian ministry and music her whole life. The Texas-born daughter of a pastor and piano teacher, she met Nathan Nockels in the early '90s at a Christian arts seminar. Marrying in 1995, they soon began writing songs together, and recorded a 1996 album as Son & Daughters with fellow CCM artist Charlie Hall. After attending the initial Passion Conference in 1997, Christy and Nathan were signed as Watermark to Michael W. Smith's Rocketown Records, and released five albums on that label. In 2004, Christy was nominated for the Dove Awards' Female Vocalist of the Year, and, in 2009, she released her first solo abum, LIFE LIGHT UP, produced by Nathan.
