This Philadelphia-based neo-glam band was a major contributor to the musical and sartorial aesthetics that came to be known as '80s hair metal. They were discovered at a club gig in the early 1980s by Jon Bon Jovi and signed, at his suggestion, to Polygram Records. Their '86 debut was an immediate smash, yielding the hit single "Nobody's Fool" and a seemingly permanent presence on MTV. Successive follow-ups were just as popular, and the band, despite a few line-up changes, were bona fide rock stars until their demise in the early '90s. Several reunion tours and two live albums have kept the band going in the aughts, but their recorded output has been minimal.
