Native Brooklynite Danny Tenaglia got his start as a DJ in the early 1980s. Except for a brief tenure in Miami, Tenaglia stayed centered in New York City, where he became one of the premiere DJs of the city’s house scene. At the dawn of the ‘90s Teneglia was in demand as a producer and remixer, and Tenaglia mixes like “Surrender Yourself” and “Bottom Heavy” became club smashes. High profile residencies and remix work for the likes of Madonna, Michael Jackson, and New Order pushed the DJ’s talents further into the limelight, and his star continued to rise throughout the late ‘90s and early 2000s with a series of remix albums and steady appearances.
