A Southern rapper who grew up on East Coast-styled rap like Notorious B.I.G. and Nas, Dee Day introduced the world to his diverse style in 2013. Raised in the Jefferson Parish area of Marrero, Dee Day dropped The Colors in 2013, a mixtape that featured guest appearances from Omarion, Kevin Gates, and G-Unit member Kidd Kidd. National tours with Juicy J and Machine Gun Kelly helped spread the word, then in 2014, the rapper hit with "InstaStars," a single that went after the new "celebrities" that emerged via social media and/or photo sharing apps. A year later he dropped the single "One Time." ~ David Jeffries
