Do Or Die
Formed in the mid-1990s in Chicago, Do Or Die consisted of rapping-singing trio AK-47, Belo Zero, and N.A.R.D., and drew immediate comparisons to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, due to their tongue-twisting flows and R&B-infused choruses. In 1996, they collaborated with fellow Chicagoan Twista on hit single “Po Pimp,” off their debut LP, PICTURE THIS. They continued recording all the way through the 2000s, and even saw Kanye West and R. Kelly contribute guest spots on 2005’s D.O.D. However, the group’s momentum was cut short in 2007 when Belo was sentenced to several years in jail on a second-degree murder conviction.
