Looking more like a surfer dude than a rapper, Felly (Christian Robert Felner) capitalized on his laid-back image and began a steady release of tracks in 2011, which he eventually compiled on Drive-By Music. At the time, he was still in high school. In addition to rapping, the prolific musician also issued compilations of beats that he listed for sale online. The year 2014 saw no less than four releases, including two rap EPs and more instrumentals. At this juncture, he began to add tropical and bossa nova flair to his hip-hop production, which he twisted into trap beats on 2015's This Shit Comes in Waves. Beats from these sessions appeared on South Linda. An EP titled Young Fel arrived in 2016. ~ Neil Z. Yeung
