One of the most prolific and successful film composers of the late 20th and early 21st century, Hans Zimmer was born September 12, 1957 in Frankfurt, Germany. He relocated to London as a teen, where he would go on to work with pop groups like the Buggles, Ultravox, and Krisma. His partnership with film composer Stanley Myers helped to establish strides in fusing the traditional orchestral aesthetic of film composition with state-of-the-art electronics, and proved highly influential on the countless soundtracks he would eventually compose on his own. Zimmer has received numerous awards for his work on films like The Last Emperor, The Lion King, Rain Man, The Thin Red Line, Gladiator., and Inception. ~ Jason Ankeny
