Hailing from Sweden, I’m From Barcelona is a pop group comprising 30 members. Despite its large cast, and its eclectic mix of instruments (their recordings sport clarinets, kazoos, accordions, trumpets, and banjos), the band is really the brainchild of Emanuel Lundgren, the founder and primary singer and songwriter. The 2006 EP DON’T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS, BUDDY! established the blueprint for I’m From Barcelona’s sunny, singalong indie pop, a sound that was fully fleshed out on their debut full-length LET ME INTRODUCE MY FRIENDS. The popularity of the single (and video for) “We’re From Barcelona” heightened the band’s profile. WHO KILLED HARRY HOUDINI? appeared in 2008.
