Indie folk singer/songwriter Jessica Lea Mayfield issued her debut album, White Lies, under the name Chittlin'. The release led to a singing appearance on the 2008 Black Keys album Attack & Release. Her first album under her own name, With Blasphemy So Heartfelt, was produced by the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, and she appeared on the frontman's first solo record, Keep It Hid. Mayfield also enlisted his help in recording her second album, 2011's Tell Me. Released in 2014, Make My Head Sing... was a complete musical switch -- a scorching, electric rock & roll set. She returned to her more acoustic roots for a cover album with Seth Avett titled Seth Avett & Jessica Lea Mayfield Sing Elliott Smith in 2015. ~ William Ruhlmann & Marcy Donelson
