Born Jonathan Buck, this Pasadena, California-raised singer/songwriter/producer grew up listening to old soul and R & B records in his grandparents’ record store. By the time he graduated high school, he was an accomplished musician and decided to submit demos of 40 songs to different labels. He caught the attention of Babyface and his wife Tracy Edmonds, who helped usher through the release of Jon B.’s 1995 debut, BONAFIDE. Jon would soon also produce records for the likes of Toni Braxton and collaborate with hip-hop MCs such as Tupac, while continuing to release hit solo records, including 1997’s COOL RELAX and 2004’s STRONGER EVERY DAY.
