A protégée of Backstreet Boys producer Jonathan "Mookie" Morant, pop singer Krystal first discovered music at an early age back home in Anderson, IN. Born Krystal Marie Harris on November 7, 1981, to two musical parents, Krystal began playing the piano and developing her singing skills well before her fifth birthday. Along the way, she also picked up the guitar, drums, and flute. Through a mutual acquaintance back home, Morant and Krystal were introduced and began demoing songs together. Subsequently, Krystal signed to the Backstreet Boys' label, KBNHA/The Label/Geffen, issuing her debut in May of 2001, Me and My Piano, and spending the entire summer opening for the Backstreet Boys on a tour of U.S. arenas. ~ Greg Prato
