Swedish dansband Lars-Kristerz rose to fame in 2008 on the television show Dansbandskampen and experienced chart-topping success the following year with the album Hem Till Dig. Founded in 2001 in Älvdalen, Sweden, the band made its album debut in 2003 with Stuffparty 1, followed by Stuffparty 2 in 2004 and Stuffparty 3 in 2007. In 2008, the band finished first on the television contest Dansbandskampen and made its major-label debut one year later with the single "Carina," a chart-topping hit. The album Hem Till Dig spawned a follow-up hit single, "Purple Rain," a cover of Prince's 1984 smash hit. ~ Jason Birchmeier
