Proud Liverpudlian Louis Berry grew up in a rough part of the city, and his first musical steps were taken while sneaking a quick go on his granddad's forbidden guitar, hidden under the bed, on which he taught himself a couple of chords. His rebellious style owed a lot to rock & roll greats such as Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis, in stark contrast to the mainstream singer/songwriters with whom Berry drew comparisons, like Jake Bugg and Alex Turner. Berry signed a record deal after playing just two gigs. His debut EP, Rebel, garnered a very positive response and received wide-ranging support from major radio stations. His debut full-length album followed in 2016. ~ Simon Spreyer
