British synth pop outfit Lovelife rose from the ashes of Brother (aka Viva Brother), who failed to live up to their own hype and expectations. They reassembled as Lovelife with the addition of former Mirrors musician Ally Young, who brought electronic influences to the band and began writing songs with frontman Leonard Newell. They relocated to New York and concentrated on writing music and playing shows with some anonymity. Eventually they signed with National Anthem and went on to tour the States and release The Fourth Floor EP at the end of 2012. They further reinvented themselves across the Atlantic with a support slot with AlunaGeorge in 2013 and returned to the U.K. for one low-key show in London that summer. Stateless, a four-track EP, was released later that year. ~ Scott Kerr
