Combining silky vocals with lavish yet surprising guitars and electronics, the Danish experimental pop band Lowly formed in 2014. Keyboardist Kasper Staub, vocalist/guitarist Nanna Schannong, vocalist Soffie Viemose, bassist/keyboardist Thomas Lund, and percussionist Steffen Lundtoft met at the musical academy in Aarhus. The group's luxurious-sounding releases include their debut EP for Bella Union, Sink Way Into Me, and their first full-length Heba, which featured tenor saxophonist Jacob Danielsen and soprano singer Anna Maria Wierød. ~ Heather Phares
