Revealed in the neo-pagode movement, Marquinhos PQD has had his compositional talent acknowledged by top samba acts. Fases do Amor (with Chiquinho/Fernando Piolho) was recorded by the Fundo de Quintal; "Coração Feliz" (with Adilson Bispo/Gerson do Vale) by Beth Carvalho; in 1987, "Luz do Repente" (with Franco/Arlindo Cruz) was the title of Jovelina Pérola Negra's album; "Já Foi Uma Família" (with Franco/Arlindo Cruz) was recorded by the Fundo de Quintal; and in 1988, Beth Carvalho recorded "A Sete Chaves" (with Franco/Arlindo Cruz). In the next year, Reinaldo recorded "Pra Ser Minha Musa" (with Chiquinho/Arlindo Cruz), Beth Carvalho "Sonhando Eu Sou Feliz" (with Franco/Arlindo Cruz), and the group Sampa "Pagode de Família" (with Fernando de Lima/Franco, in the eponymous album). In 1989, the Fundo de Quintal recorded "Se Você Me Der a Mão" (with Chiquinho/Arlindo Cruz) and "Não Valeu" (with Franco/Arlindo Cruz). In 1990, Bezerra da Silva recorded "Se Não Avisar o Bicho Pega" (with Marcinho/Jorge Carioca). In the next year, Beth Carvalho registered "Olhos da Paixão" (with Sombra/Sombrinha), and on her live album, Ao Vivo no Olympia, at the Olympia, in Paris, France, she recorded "Sonhando Eu Sou Feliz," "Salve a Natureza" (with Gígio/Bebeto di São João), and "A Sete Chaves." In 1996, Zeca Pagodinho named his album after PQD's "Deixa Clarear" (with Sombrinha/Arlindo Cruz). In 1999, Luizinho SP recorded "Me Deixa" (with Serginho Procópio/Acyr Marques). In 2000, Zeca Pagodinho interpreted "Luz do Repente" and PQD's samba-enredo "Verde, Amarelo, Azul-Anil, Colorem o Brasil do Ano 2000" (with Dico da Viola/Jefinho/Marquinho Índio) was chosen by the Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel samba school for its annual Carnaval parade. "É Sempre Assim" (with Arlindo Cruz/Sombrinha) was recorded by Arlindo Cruz and Sombrinha in 2001. In the same year, Jorge Aragão recorded "Abuso de Poder" (with Carlito Cavalcanti). ~ Alvaro Neder
