It's well known that Morrissey has devoted fans in Mexico and among Mexican-Americans. Camilo Lara (Mexican Institute of Sound) is one of Morrissey's devotees, and in 2015 was asked by the director of London's La Linea Festival to put together a project to honor Mexico's love affair. Lara formed Mexrrissey with a stellar lineup of respected Mexican musicians, who combined traditional Mexican instruments and electronics. The band debuted in Mexico City before jetting to play La Linea and make an emotional stop in Manchester, and then played sold-out shows in New York City and Los Angeles. The group selected songs from different eras of Morrissey's solo career and recorded No Manchester (2016), which also included live tracks. ~ Tim Sendra
