Bassist, composer, vocalist, and general jazz renaissance player Miles Mosley spent his youth studying under storied mentors to develop a style that had the fluidity of funk and rock playing with more technical mastery and depth of expression than a single style could hold. Mosley's multifaceted abilities quickly found him working with an enormous cast of famous names. One of the founders of creative musicians' collective the West Coast Get Down, Mosley has collaborated at length with members of the group on their recordings, performances, and compositions, as well as those he leads. Mosley's lengthy discography as a collaborator and leader is highlighted by Kamasi Washington's The Epic, Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly, and his own Uprising. ~ Fred Thomas
