Formed in Berkeley, California in 1983 and soon relocating to Los Angeles, punk rockers NOFX have avoided major labels over the course of their career. The band began as a trio comprised of vocalist/bassist Fat Mike, guitarist Eric Melvin, and drummer Erik Sandin. NOFX's first full-length, S&M Airlines, was released by Epitaph in 1989 and the band has continued recording for the legendary punk label over the years, while also issuing several albums and EPs on Fat Mike's own Fat Wreck Chords. Following 1990's Ribbed and 1991's Liberal Animation, Aaron Abeyta (aka El Hefe) became NOFX's permanent second guitarist, anchoring a lineup often regarded as the band's best. The band's 11th studio album, Coaster, arrived in 2009, followed by 2012's Self Entitled. ~ John Bush & Steve Huey
