After five years on the mixtape circuit, the quirky Los Angeles-based hip-hop group OverDoz landed a major-label record deal via the RCA imprint Polo Grounds. Featuring rappers Joon, P, Kent, and Creamie, OverDoz first earned comparisons to Outkast and Digital Underground in 2008 when they released their debut mixtape Bowties and Rosaries. Further mixtapes Nova (2010) and Live For, Die For (2011) helped spread the word, but it was the flashy and kinetic uploaded videos for tracks like "Growin' Pains" and "Come First" that really put up the numbers, counting up views in the hundreds of thousands. In 2013 their mixtape Boom! landed with appearances from Juicy J, Nipsey Hussle, DJ Drama, and others, and by the end of the year, they signed with Polo Grounds and joined labelmate ASAP Ferg on his Turnt and Burnt Tour across the U.S. ~ David Jeffries
