Born in 1984, modern indie folk singer Priscilla Ahn made a name for herself on the local Pennsylvania coffee house circuit before relocating to Los Angeles to join that city's burgeoning Hotel Cafe folk scene, where she met fellow musicians Joshua Radin and Amos Lee. After touring with Radin and Lee, Ahn teamed with veteran producers Joey Waronker and Gus Seyfrett to record a self-titled EP in 2007. A GOOD DAY, again produced by Waronker, was releaseed on Blue Note in mid-2008, earning largely positive reviews. Its self-referential production recalled work by fellow Hotel Cafe artists like Meiko, though Ahn's angelic voice and naive lyrics split the difference between better-known singers Jewel and Ani Difranco.
