Marius Lauber, aka Roosevelt, ran through a bunch of teenage garage bands before submitting to the techno of Cologne. Lauber lived in the Cologne suburb of Viersen, where he cut his teeth in indie bands. When he moved to the heart of the city, his roommates were Kompakt signees Coma. Within a few years of getting over his "it all sounds the same" attitude, Lauber was resident DJ at Kompakt’s Total Confusion party. In 2012, he introduced his techno-meets-indie pop project Roosevelt with "Sea," released by Greco-Roman. A year later, "Elliot" landed on Future Classic, then it was back to Greco-Roman for 2015's "Hold On." Roosevelt's self-titled album arrived in 2016 through Greco-Roman and City Slang. ~ David Jeffries
