Retro-styled R&B singer, pianist, and songwriter Tess Henley made her recorded debut in 2008 with Easy to Love, a self-released set that belied her young age. Just after she reached the age of 20, the Kent, Washington native released another EP, The Appetizer, and achieved notice through a number of competitions. The 2012 film Hello I Must Be Going featured her song "Boy in the Window," which also won SoulTracks' International Song Competition and an Independent Music Award. In 2013, Henley released her second album, High Heels & Sneakers, produced by Dice Raw and Khari Mateen. Yet another competition led to a collaboration with producer Don Was, who helped her record the 2015 EP Wonderland. ~ Andy Kellman
