Though the members of Orange County's the Lovely Bad Things had known each other since high school (or before, in the case of siblings Brayden and Camron Ward), they didn't form until after graduation. Coming together in 2009, the Wards, Tim Hatch, and Lauren Curtis switch off vocals and instruments while playing a fast, funny, and loose brand of punky garage pop. The energy of their live shows and the strength of their songwriting brought them to the attention of Burger Records, who released the band's New Ghost/Old Waves cassette in 2011. It was reissued in 2012 by Volcom on CD and LP. The same label combo released the band's The Late Great Whatever in 2013. ~ Tim Sendra
