b. Tityo Jarr, 1968, Sweden. The sister of Neneh Cherry, Tityo first enjoyed international success with the release of ‘Flowers’ in 1990. This single was taken from her debut album, which featured production contributions from Massive Attack among others. She had already found acclaim in her native country with ‘Man In The Moon’ and ‘My Body Says Yes’, two singles which introduced her powerful vocal abilities to an enthusiastic Scandinavian audience. However, she withdrew from the public gaze after this initial success, concentrating on her new baby with producer/songwriter husband Magnus Frykberg. On her return her second album saw her include a cover version of Aretha Franklin’s standard ‘Never Let Me Go’, as well as more obvious mainstream dance material. Her mother, a former dance teacher, added piano to the track ‘Make My Day’.
