Biography
Possessing a keenness that belied his age, Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa became a hip-hop star during the late 2000s, known for his bravado and hardcore yet charismatic rhymes. Early on he was a regular staple on Pittsburgh radio, selling tens of thousands of mixtapes. He signed to Atlantic for the Pittsburgh Steelers tribute "Black and Yellow," a surprise chart-topper in February of 2011 (helped by the playoff success of the Steelers). Less of a surprise was his next number one hit. A tribute to the actor Paul Walker included on the Furious 7 soundtrack, "See You Again" reigned at number one for more than ten weeks in 2015. ~ Cyril Cordor
