Michigan-based experimental noise band Wolf Eyes began in 1997 as a solo project of Nate Young (ex-the Beast People). Young's former bandmate, Aaron Dilloway, joined in 1999, and drummer John Olson completed the original line-up a year later. Producing hundreds of homemade recordings, the band initially released their music on self-released CD-Rs and cassettes, and toured with underground rock heavyweights Andrew W.K. and Sonic Youth. They signed to Sub Pop, releasing the excellent, if slightly more conventional, BURNED MIND in 2004. Mike Connelly of Hair Police replaced Dilloway in 2005, and the following year the band released their Sub Pop follow-up, HUMAN ANIMAL.
