Based in Melbourne, Australia, indie dance group World's End Press was formed by John Parkinson (vocals) and Rhys Richards (keyboards). With the addition of drummer Tom Gould and bassist Sashi Dharann, the band drew on a wide mix of influences including Krautrock, disco, punk, space rock, and lovers rock to create its effervescent grooves. World's End Press worked with producer Tim Goldsworthy (Massive Attack, the Rapture, Cut Copy) to record their 2013 self-titled debut. The band toured heavily, sharing the stage with acts like Hot Chip, Primal Scream, and Bloc Party and establishing itself in the Australian festival circuit. With the departure of bassist Dharann, the band slimmed to a trio for the 2015 EP Tall Stories. ~ Timothy Monger
